To provide passengers and aircrew with the knowledge and skills necessary to react to and survive a helicopter ditching and be able to care for themselves in a sea survival situation. This course uses the SEATAG MODULE for the practical sessions.
On completion, participants will be able to demonstrate competence in the theory and practice of the following:
• Helicopter safety and personal emergency drills
• Helicopter emergency landings – Surface abandonment and underwater escape
• Abandonment techniques, sea survival skills and rescue techniques
• Basic Fire Fighting – using fire blankets, fire extinguishers, hose reels on A B C and E class fires
• Practical escape from a hot, dark smokey environment wearing escape apparatus
• Basic first aid – Including body systems, DRABC, EAR, CPR and contents of a first aid kit

COMPETENCY
All participants must complete at least three (3) unassisted escapes from the helicopter module & complete a questionnaire in order to pass the course.

Participants must hold a valid and current medical certificate in accordance with:

If marine industry personnel - As per-SOLAS chapter 9.
