The purpose of this module is to provide the emergency response team members, with the knowledge and skills to work safely and competently when responding to emergency incidents involving fire. On completion of this training, participants will be able to demonstrate a competence in the theory and practice of the following:

• Extinguishment for each class of fire using portable extinguishers and hose lines |
• Introduction to Breathing Apparatus |
• Personal protective clothing |
• Operation of fire fighting equipment |
• Detection and suppression systems |
• Fire suppression strategies and tactics |
• Benefits of safety inspections and maintenance training |

Pre Requisites
Participants are required to be medically fit have a valid medical certificate.
